Marion North Carolina “Where Main Street Meets the Mountains” 2024 Spring/Summer Events!

SPRING is on its way and SUMMER is on the horizon! Marion North Carolina is a wonderful place to visit this time of the year. From Lake James, to hiking, to strolling our gorgeous Main St… there is something to do for everyone! We are including below a list of various activities to check out during the spring/summer!

*April 13 (Saturday) …..Master Gardener’s Spring Fling Plant Sale

This event is held at the Marion Tailgate Market (67 West Henderson St) from 9AM-1PM

*May 4th (Saturday)……. Sidewalk Yard Sale 

This event is held on the streets of Main St between 7:30AM-12PM. You will find all kinds of things as you stroll the streets of Marion! Remember when it comes to yards sales… the EARLY BIRD gets the WORM!

*May 18th (WNC Big Foot Festival) 

Do you believe!?!? Whether you are a believer in Big Foot or not this is an event that you surely do NOT want to miss! Its the largest crowd our downtown sees and draws people in from all over! Vendors, a 5K, tons of food, live music and stories of Bigfoot can be found all throughout the day. Event is from 10AM-5PM, This is a free event and no tickets are required. Be sure to follow “WNC Big Foot Festival” on Facebook for further details about parking, vendor location, etc. Don’t forget to stop by our ERA tent at 32 North Main St as we will have lots of free giveaways (while supplies last of course)

*June 1(Saturday) Livermush Festival – Come and celebrate all things liver mush..

July 4th (Thursday) – Independence Day Celebration 

To start the festivities there will be a July 4th Parade in downtown Marion at 6PM.

6:30PM Street Dancing with Live Band

9:30PM FIREWORKS!

There will be free inflatables for the kids, Little Miss McDowell Performance and lots of various food vendors. Come hungry and ready for some FUN!

August 3rd (Saturday)- Sidewalk Yard Sale 

This is the SECOND sidewalk yard sale of this year!

August 3 (Saturday)- MACA Micropolitan Film Festival
